I really love water. It means life to so much of our world. The phrase “Living Water” is something that comes out of the Bible. The Lord describes Himself as a “Spring of Living Water” in Jeremiah 2:13 and again in Jeremiah 17:13. He then prophecies of “Living Water” coming out of Jerusalem in Zachariah 14:8. But the clarity in all of this comes when He explains that He is the One who not only possesses Living Water, but can provide it to all who seek it. THEN, those who obtain that same Living Water can let it flow freely to others. “Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them” (John 7:38).
The photo above was one of the very first photos that I took when I finally got my first decent camera. It was a Canon 40D and this was a trip to the zoo with the kids. I saw my daughter washing her hands and loved the imagery of a child’s hand being filled to overflowing from the “Living Water” at the same time as it cleansed all the impurities away from it.
If you are interested, one of the most impacting scriptures of Christ as the Living Water is when he speaks to the Samaritan women at the well. Check it out.
If you don’t already, I’d love if you would follow this blog and even share it with others if you enjoy it.
